Greetings and Welcome!
My name is Laurice and I am Sweet Moments Desserts. This is my company started on a whim and continued and nurtured on a prayer. It is my blessing that I share with you.
I grew up in small towns in Maine until my Mom moved us to the bustling city of San Francisco when I was 9. As the daughter of a single working Mom, it fell to me to help cook family meals at the age of 12. While we really enjoy good meals out, most meals were made at home, always from scratch. Yes, we are foodies. :) In 1994, I graduated from the Collin's School of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly, Pomona. I worked in the industry, mostly front of house, until I became a mom. I imagined many things about my life. Never did I imagine I'd own my own business.
In 2000, I started entering pies in local competitions and whenever I did, I won first place! In 2002, with some help I was able to take beginner cake decorating classes at a local craft store. Other than those classes I am self taught. In 2005 after a friend asked me to make her wedding cake my business was born and just grew. Yes, I watched a lot of cake shows!
I LOVE what I do, I love making people smile with my creations, I love that this small business provides for this single mom and her two daughters. Life can be a struggle but I cherish Creating Sweet Moments in Life... one dessert at a time.
